The Wirral - Llandudno run took place on the 12th January 2003, starting from the "Quality Hotel".

At the Quality Hotel
This is the Quality Hotel, Wirral. We met up here to start the day off, with people arriving as early as 9:00am to get bacon butties etc. A lot of talking and photographs where done and taken, and we where ready to go, at 10:00am. We set off with all the horns and wheel-spin going, then out onto the A55.

On the A55
After eventually getting onto the A55 as of a very slow leader car, we where on our way in convoy. Many cars where flashing there lights etc, but we where at the front so we didn’t see much of that. After a very slow 40mph all the way down the A55, we turned off onto the coast road through Colwyn Bay.

Rhos-On-Sea
We stopped at Rhos-On-Sea the same as last year, took more photographs, looked at more minis, and waited for others to catch up. We where here for about 40 minutes, instead of the usual 10, which was rather boring. We then set off again through Rhos-On-Sea, and onto Llandudno. We went along the Great Orme, a few little steep bits, and stopped at the top.

The Great Orme
This is the top of the Great Orme. All the Minis parked up here, old and new, and we all stayed here for about another 40 minutes for refreshments. We where on the coast road, so photos did not stop being taken! After a long, cold walk down the hill to see the rest of the Minis, we headed back after 30 minutes, and waited in the car for a bit longer. The weather was a bit sunny up there, and very windy, so not many people got out of there car for a long time. We then set off again, and went back down the Orme, headed back to Llandudno and queued up to get on the sea front.

The Sea front - Llandudno
This is the sea front at Llandudno. After a maximum speed of 5mph, we eventually got to the end, and parked up in a nice neat row. Everyone went for lunch straight away, so only a few where left. Still, me and two of Welsh Rarebit Mini club had our RC cars, so nothing could go wrong. After a high-speed thrash of them along the front, we had dinner and just looked at the Minis. We all took more photos; I took 138 on the day, some others just taking a couple. We all set off home at approximately 3:00, and went different ways, whilst some Minis stayed in convoy. 102 Minis took part in the run, and about 6 New Minis.
